The teachers here are truly exceptional—amazing, helpful, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable. My experience at this academy has been transformative; I started in set 4, but thanks to the quality of education, I progressed two sets up to set 2. I am genuinely thrilled with my academic advancement.One notable aspect is the small class sizes. With only one teacher and around four to five students per table, the learning environment is intimate and conducive to asking questions. I have two daughters who has gone to Alethia Academy Birmingham in two different years and they have both done the 11+ test and has past. The first one is in year 8 at King Edward VI Camp Hill School for girls and the second one is just waiting for confirmation to be admitted to the same school on 1st March.

Beat academic centre that I’ve been to, I’ve been with Aletheia tuition centre for 5 years now, and thanks to them I’m doing A levels right now and I’m still attending lessons with them. Absolutely great, tutors are very friendly and will help you with anything you need. I used to get 3s and 4s in my GCSEs but thanks to them I’ve been able to excel and achieve the desired grades that I wanted and get into the courses I want.👊🏼👊🏼

My daughter has attended this Academy for two weeks crash course for her 11+ exam preparation and it was a great help and she passed the Grammar test with high marks and got admission at Camp Hill Grammar School. My son who is already at Grammar school has started his tuition classes at Aletheia Academy from Sep this year. I am very much satisfied with his progress reports. The teachers are friendly and they provide regular feedback on my son’s performance. I am happy with my child’s progress and would strongly recommend this academy for tuition and learning support.

My daughter has been attending for 2 months now for year 6 English and Maths. She is being guided through the curriculum and is able to work at her own pace. She is helped with anything she struggles with during her session and also with her homework. With Ramadan approaching, I wanted to share the stills from our annual planner showing our updated dates of operation over the next couple of months.
Green days are tuition sessions and yellow represents mock exams.

During Ramadan, we will open on Saturdays and Sundays as we normally do with opening times as follows:

Saturday 10am to 5:30pm
Sunday 10am to 4pm

Our parents will have received information via WhatsApp guiding them to their child's new day/time.
Please get in touch with Briony with any issues or alterations to the times as they need to be corrected before the sessions start.

The Mock Exam revision list will be live on our website this week and the information will be sent home via WhatsApp for all parents.

Our year 6, SATs exam preparation plan. Our year 6 students will spend the next 4.5 months working through exam-style practice to solidify their knowledge and prepare them for their in-school exams.

Students will begin with 1 booklet per week to focus on either Maths or English. This will alternate until after the February half term when they will move to 2 booklets per week to ensure they have been exposed to as many possible questions as possible.

SATs exams are designed to assess students at the end of their primary school journey. The scores they receive in these tests will be passed on to the secondary school they receive a place at and place them into sets. It’s important for students to do well so that they can be placed correctly for their secondary school journey.

Question: What is the difference between the present perfect and the simple past?

Answer:
Use the simple past when the action started in the past, finished in the past, and is not continuing now. Use the present perfect when the action started in the past and is continuing now.

The simple past tells us that an action happened at a certain time in the past, and is not continuing anymore. It doesn't tell us anything about when an action happened, so more information needs to be given with this verb form, such as when the action took place.

The present perfect tells us that an action started in the past and it is still happening now, or it is something that happens regularly. We may need more information to tell us how long it has been going on. It may also tell us that the time period it started in is still going on.

The following example sentences show the different meanings when using the two verb tenses.

Akbar ate lunch early. (Simple Past: Eating lunch has started and ended in the past. Someone might say this when the time for eating lunch has also ended. Lunch happened early, and it is over now.)

We have been working on our displays in the centre and we started with Maths!

This wall is now filled with formulae, mathematical rules and key vocabulary to help the students to understand their work and have reference points to help them where they are struggling.

It is the Half-Term Holiday next week and the Centre will be closed.

With the 2023-24 Academic year in full swing, I wanted to provide a couple of updates.

Our curriculum has had a revamp! All new booklets with new questions for each and every student! You will notice that your child's booklets look different.

Homework is now on paper. Details of the specific tasks for each year group will be given via WhatsApp this week, so please watch for that information.

We have now finished our summer tuition sessions for 2023.

A huge Well Done to our 11+ intensive students who have been great! They have completed 15 Assessments over the past 4 weeks. They have not stopped working.

Another Well Done to our Year 9 students moving into Year 10 - as they have moved to their new year group to get ahead.

Finally, our new Year 11 class, we know this year will be tough and we're here to support you every step of the way!
